This overview will examine the general provisions of the new healthcare reform law (enacted in March of 2010); requirements and expected changes for insurance companies, providers, employers and individuals; new requirements and responsibilities delegated to the states (the regulation of health plans, Health Benefit Exchanges (HBEs), and healthcare benefits, and requirements for consumers); and the extensive changes the laws brings to State Medicaid Agencies (SMAs) and programs. |
